What do Student Reps do?

The role of a student rep is to find out what students think, represent these opinions to the University and Students' Union and then feed back to students.

If you have an issue and want to talk to your rep about it, you can find the name and contact details for your rep at the address above. The current reps will be in post until the end of October 2009.

Training

Details of the next available training course will be posted shortly. It is not essential for experienced Student Reps to attend training.

The student handbook is the key place for information about academic support, complaints procedures,  regulations and policy documents and other important information and contacts. A new study direct site has also been set up for reps to communicate with each other and with Adam Farrell, USSU Education Officer. To access this site please use your Sussex login details at www.sussex.ac.uk/students (please note this site is only available to existing student reps)

Campaigns

There is one student rep position on the Union's Campaigns Committee, which meets at least 5 times each term. The committee discusses campaign-related issues and awards money to campaigning groups from the Campaigns Fund.
